We are often asked by Twitter newcomers; what should they tweet, what tone should they use and do we have any other hints & tips we could share?
So here are our 9 top tips to help get you started…………..happy tweeting!
#1 Leave space to RT & quote; just because there are 140 characters doesn’t mean you have to use them!
#2 Shorten links on sites such as tinyurl.com or bitly.com & free up additional character space in your tweet.
#3 Don’t overload your tweets with #hashtags, it can make the tweet difficult to read & disengage the reader.
#4 Remember, that no one has to share your content on Twitter. If someone does RT or favourite your tweet, remember to thank them.
#5 Beware automation overload! Automated DM, excessive RSS feeds & Facebook to Twitter links make you look like a bot & not you.
#6 Maximise your Twitter profile to tell potential followers about you & your business.
#7 Ensure you connect your company website address to your Twitter profile……you would be amazed how many companies don’t!
#9 Timelines that only shout “Me, Me, Me” or “Sell, Sell, Sell” are most likely to turn followers away.
